It’s a time of dreams, and symbols and facing truths and learning about new facets of me and how to cope with them. I have been beset by some powerful archetypal dream imagery, which I started recording as compositions. After a discussion with Ilhaam, my art mentor, I have decided to take 9- 14 of the major Jungian archetypes and represent them, filtered through the lens of my own experience and paradigm, into a collection called ARCHETAPESTRY.

Archetypes are fundamental, universal symbols or themes that reside in the collective unconscious of humanity. These archetypes play a crucial role in shaping our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and they are often expressed in various myths, stories, and cultures throughout history.

They are:

• The Shadow
• The Anima/Animus
• The Persona
• The Hero
• The Mother
• The Father
• The Child
• The Trickster
• The Sage
• The Lover
• The Warrior
• The Explorer
• The Creator

This first one is The Sage. Or how I see the Sage. To parrot what the literature says, in essence, the Jungian Sage archetype represents the innate human drive to seek wisdom and understanding, to share knowledge with others, and to approach life’s challenges with wisdom and insight. It emphasizes the importance of a balanced and contemplative approach to life and the ongoing quest for personal growth and enlightenment (with assistance from chatGPT).
